| Less than two weeks of class left....less than three weeks till I go home for the summer....let the stressing begin!
I got a call back home from my boss in the Cities regarding the position I applied for. He also sent me an e-mail wanting my school phone number (which I replied to but apparently he didn't get)..so I'm hoping his being so adament to get a hold of me is a good sign.
| Goal for this week: make it to all of my classes (well, ok, make it to at least half of them..) | | |
| I had some odd dreams last night, and thought I'd share. One was where I was playing basketball with some random dude I didn't know in the gymnasium of some place I don't know where it was (but apparenlty it was at UND) and then when I walked out of there, I passed my crazy exboyfriend who looked like he was a savage out in the wilderness...hair all grown out and matted, a long grown out beard..I barely recognized him. It was quite odd since I was walking through the hallway of my primary school. And then I also had to go to the health office for some reason? yeah...I don't get it either.
Another dream I had made me conclude I need to stop watching shows like SVU, CSI, etc. Even though I haven't watched one since about Tuesday, I had a very creepy/scary, bad dream last night, about this woman being held captive in a bathtub, her captor cutting her hair, and then he wrapped duct tape around her neck. Good thing detective Olivia Benson was there though and kicked the bad guys butt! I woke up then, so I don't know what happened... but yeah, if you ever wonder why I'm messed up, it's because of dreams like these, which seem to plague my mind everyonce in a while (but usually it's me being chased). What is wrong with me?
My GrMa sent this to me in an e-mail and I felt obligated to tell the story of the creation of my heritage:
THE CREATION OF MINNESOTA
Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the archangel found him, resting on the seventh day. He inquired of God, "Where have you been?" God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look Michael, look what I've made."
Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?"
"It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put Life on it. I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance."
"Balance?", inquired Michael, still confused.
God explained, pointing to different parts of earth, "For example, northern Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth while southern Europe is going to be poor; the Middle East over there will be a hot spot. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people," God continued, pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot and arid while this one will be very cold and covered in ice."
The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a large land mass and said, "What's that one?"
Ah," said God. "That's MINNESOTA, the most glorious place on earth. There are thousands of beautiful lakes, rivers, sunsets and rolling hills. The people from MINNESOTA are going to be modest, intelligent and humorous and they are going to be found traveling the world. They will be extremely sociable, hard working and high achieving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace." Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed," What about balance, God?" "You said there would be balance!"
God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the idiots I'm putting around them in Wisconsin, Iowa, North and South Dakota.

| woo hoo so this week has been slacker week for Andrea, and tomorrow (Thursday!) might actually be the first day I make it to an actual scheduled class! That's not to say I haven't been productive, though: I somehow did manage to write a crappy 6 page paper somewhere between Monday night and Tuesday afternoon, go watch a movie for a class on Tuesday evening and make it to a stupid group conference today. So I haven't been missing out on EVERYTHING academic (and two of my scheduled classes today were cancled due to the wonderful Writer's conference, so that meant I was missing at least three of my classes anyways as if my 11:00 class is cancled I tend not to make it to my 10:00 class--why get up?--and it's not my fault my group conference was scheduled to meet at noon--the time of the one class I had a chance of making it to today). So, as you can see, not everything was out of my control
Shot a little pool yesterday as well, which was ok. Other than that, just being a bum. When I was in Florida, I got a call from Bryce, which was quite surprising since I hadn't spoke with him since like Christmas. I guess he's been working odd shifts (midnight to ten) and he told me that the Mexicans listen better when you swear and yell at them in English than politely ask them in Spanish to "Get on the ground with your hands on your head damnit!" haha I miss that guy :( I also got a call from one of my old co-workers, Scotty the other night. Nice chatting with him. He gets to go to Peru for a few weeks pretty soon. Lucky bastard.
Well that's about it from this boring life. I'm out...maybe to catch some zzz's adios
| My 7 month, 8 pound kitten had a 4 year old, 90+ pound chocolate labrador scared of him...I must say it was quite entertaining *sigh* my cat is a brute | | |
